In The Mourning

We are a group of friends based in Peninsular Malaysia, that collaborated to form the company RavenWhen. The establishment of this company, was to produce our first podcast; In The Mourning.

The podcast, which will fully be released by the end of May 2022 explores the topic of death in the lens of the yet ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that affected the lives of many.  Globally, the pandemic has brought about a paramount change in the deathscapes of many cultures and across various geographical locations.

 

Our podcast particularly, would investigate the changes happening, especially in this region, and provide the listeners with an insight of the economic, social and cultural impacts, and influences of the pandemic surrounding Covid-19 patients. A deeper focus will be given on the aftermath of Covid-19 on the death industry, the culture  of burials and the grief left behind by this significant event in our lives, The investigation is conducted through interviewing industry players and from the personal recounts of individuals that have been affected.

Contextualised through the fictional narrative perspective of Daud and his friend Sabrina, we hope that this podcast will not only provide insights to the deathscape in an objective sense, but especially connect emotionally with listeners and hopefully provide them with comfort.
